Mercedes-Benz A160 CDI - 90cv

The Mercedes-Benz A160 CDI, equipped with the 1.5 turbodiesel engine producing90 hp, stands out for its efficiency and reliability, offering very low fuel consumption and suitable performance for urban and highway use. However, due to its quite conservative original configuration and multiple safety margins implemented by the brand, there is significant potential for improvement through reprogramming.

📉 Results of the Original Datalog

The original data reveals an anomalous behavior related to the supercharging system. Through the initial datalog, it is possible to observe that the turbo pressure (green line) exhibits significant fluctuations, instead of a stable and progressive curve. This symptom indicates that the engine is not operating within ideal parameters, which could result in loss of performance, irregular consumption, and even premature wear of associated components.

Additionally, the detailed analysis of this record allowed for the identification of aggressive clogging in the DPF (diesel particulate filter). Interestingly, this condition was not accompanied by any active error codes in the ECU, highlighting the importance of thorough monitoring through datalogs before any calibration.

Whenever critical anomalies like these are detected, the calibration process is suspended until the situation is properly corrected, thus ensuring the safety, reliability, and integrity of the vehicle before any electronic optimization.

📈 Post-Calibration Results

After installing a downpipe and resolving the detected anomalies, we proceeded to the engine calibration phase. The result was a completely smoothed and stable turbo pressure curve, eliminating the fluctuations observed in the original records. Concurrently, a slight increase in boost pressure was introduced, safely exploring the reliability margin of the mechanical assembly.

The impact is evident: the vehicle transformed from its original configuration to a performance level of around 130hp and 300Nm, ensuring a more immediate response at low revs, much faster recoveries, and a significantly more dynamic overall behavior, without compromising durability.
